Proposal for a universal Internet-ID registration system for database users

A centralised system that issues and tracks 'Internet-IDs' (IIDs) for people that use web databases was proposed by Professor Brookes at the recent HGV2008 meeting. This would underpin a mechanism by which data access approval would be harmonised globally, and it is ultimately extendable to many other areas of internet functionality, such as the grid and the semantic web
