Semantic Web in GEN2PHEN
The Semantic Web is right around the corner as the knowledge-enabling technology of the future. Complementing existing data with meaningful metadata and services is a step further in the development of next-generation bioinformatics applications. The GEN2PHEN project represents a perfect usage scenario for the implementation of these new strategies in both the semantic integration of data and semantic exposition of data to others.
Objectives:
- Promote the discussion of semantic web strategies by consortium partners;
- Assess the usage of semantic web methodologies by GEN2PHEN partners;
- Promote the creation of a specific GEN2PHEN ontology;
- Empower the development of novel semantic infrastructures inside GEN2PHEN
This is an open group, not restricted just to GEN2PHEN partners, and anyone is welcome to join and participate in our discussions.
