Semantic Web in GEN2PHEN

The Semantic Web is right around the corner as the knowledge-enabling technology of the future. Complementing existing data with meaningful metadata and services is a step further in the development of next-generation bioinformatics applications. The GEN2PHEN project represents a perfect usage scenario for the implementation of these new strategies in both the semantic integration of data and semantic exposition of data to others.

Objectives:

• Promote the discussion of semantic web strategies by consortium partners;
• Assess the usage of semantic web methodologies by GEN2PHEN partners;
• Promote the creation of a specific GEN2PHEN ontology;
• Empower the development of novel semantic infrastructures inside GEN2PHEN
