Researcher identification
- Are you weary of inaccurate literature searches for author names, or of being mixed up with authors with the same or similar name? Or simply interested in the author naming issue because it's an unsolved problem?
- Would you like to access sensitive biomedical data from multiple sources, but feel intimidated by the amount of paperwork involved and wish the process were smoother?
- Would you like to be credited for your database submissions or curation work?
If the answers to some or all of these questions is yes, we are pleased to invite you to join our community of like-minded people who are interested in applications for a user-centric identification system for researchers. The purpose of this website is to serve as a port of call for researchers wishing to learn more about this topic and stimulate discussions.
Getting started
A good place to start is the primer, a series of short essays which highlight various aspects of the identification problem and related opportunities, as well as suggesting possible solutions based on Internet technologies such as OpenID. The primer is based on the original whitepaper initially put together by members of the GEN2PHEN project and circulated via E-mail in February-March '09. Further background reading can be found on the wiki pages.
Discuss
If you register (or login directly via OpenID), you can join the discussion at any time by posting comments on most of the pages on this site, and also post to the discussion forums.
Keep abreast of developments
To keep track of new developments as they are published on this website (e.g. outcome from the IRBW2009 workshop and related matters), there's two options: if you don't mind the occasional E-mail, you can subscribe to the online newsletter. Or you can subscribe to our new content RSS-feed.
