Biography: Gudmundur Thorisson received a B.Sc. degree in biology from University of Iceland in 1999. After working for two years in industry for deCODE Genetics Inc. in Reykjavik, he spent five years at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, New York working on various projects, including data management for the International HapMap project. He is currently pursuing a PhD degree at University of Leicester under the supervision of Dr. Brookes, with a focus on genetic association databases and integration of large-scale genotype and phenotype data, especially the role of digital identity for researchers in this arena.
